Our Why

23 faithful believers dedicated daily time on their vacation to begin each day in fellowship and worship with other believers. This photo is 20 of those faithful saints!

What you can't see represented here are the relationships built, the hands lifted in worship, the fervent prayers of the righteous seeking God's will. It was an honor to be surrounded by such wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ all week. A blessing my souls won't soon forget.

Over the course of the week, just in our group of 8 that we sailed with, we had interactions with 48 individuals, of those at least 6 lead to meaningful gospel conversations where seeds were planted! This is the true heart of what we do and why.

In the parable of the sower, Jesus explains 4 soil types in which seeds were planted. The sower doesn't control what happens to each seed, his only job is to throw out the seeds. In the same way it is our job as followers of Christ, and in obedience to the Great Commission, to scatter the seeds of the Gospel and leave the condition of their hearts (the soil) up to God.

I shared a story with the group from a book I have been reading. The story describes a pastor who followed in obedience and went into a strange bar far away from his home to find a solitary man sitting on a bar stool at 11 am. He followed God's leading and shared the gospel with that man and he was loosely rejected by the man so he left. Over a year later that same man, in a point of desperation in his life, remembered that gospel conversation, sought out that pastor who lived over an hour away and gave his life to Christ. That man in the bar was Phil Robertson! Those seeds produced thirty, sixty, and a hundred times what was sown all because that Pastor walked into a strange bar and talked to a drunk man about Jesus.

We will keep spreading the seeds of the gospel, and equipping and encouraging others to also do the same!
